Frequently Asked Questions

how long will it take for me to see improvements?

This is difficult to answer. It depends on how your body responds to the exercises, your baseline, and your goals. It also depends on how often you are able to commit to your exercise plan and the quality of completion. Many notice improvements within 4-6 weeks when they have mastered breathing and posture techniques.

how long will each workout be?

This is up to you! If you are able to commit to a one-hour workout every day, then that is what your plan will entail. Otherwise, you can do a few exercises (5-10 minutes a time) throughout the day. I will teach you how to incorporate techniques and exercises within your daily routine.

What exercises should i do to treat my diastasis recti?

The most important thing to do is 360 breathing followed by transverse abdominal contractions from the bottom up. These both need to be mastered before moving onto more core work! It’s all about HOW you do an exercise.

is some level of diastasis normal?

Sure is! Diastasis is a widening of the linea alba that must occur to allow the baby to grow during pregnancy. It may become an issue if you cannot reestablish your core stability following pregnancy.

should i do crunches?

This depends on whether you have good transverse abdominal strength. Crunches can make your diastasis worse- so be sure to consult an OT or PT that specializes in this area first!

i thought leaking was normal after having a baby…is there something i can do to prevent this?

You should not need to worry every time you sneeze, laugh, or stand! Urinary incontinence is very common and can be treated with the appropriate exercises. That’s right…you can jump on the trampoline, ride the rollercoasters, and chase your rambunctious toddler with a little knowledge and training.
